الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله وعلى آله وصحبه أما بعد:
فصلاة الوتر وردت بعدة صور، منها:
ـ أن تصلي ركعة واحدة في نهاية صلاة الليل ، التي هي مثنى مثنى ، فتكون صليت مثلا ثنتين وواحدة ،
أو أربعا وواحدة .. وهكذا حتى تبلغ عشرا وواحدة .
ـ أن تقتصرعلى ركعة واحدة بتكبير وركوع وسجود ، وتشهدٍ وتسليم . بعد أن تصلي العشاء الآخرة
ولا تصلي قبلها شيئا من صلاة الليل ، وهذه أقل صورة مجزئة.
ـ أن تصلي ثلاثا كصلاة المغرب. وهي طريقة الأحناف ، وبقية المذاهب يصلونها على الطريقة الأولى .
ـ أن تصلي ثلاث ركعات متصلات ، أو خمسا ، أو سبعا أو تسعا أو إحدى عشرة ركعة متصلة،
لا تتشهد إلا في آخرها تشهدا واحدا ، ولك أن تصليها كذلك ، لكن بتشهدين في الركعة الأخيرة
والتي قبلها . وأكثر الوتر إحدى عشرة ركعة وأقله ركعة واحدة ، وأدنى الكمال ثلاث ركعات .
